Ivan LP started his interest in electronic music in the early nineties and his first steps within this universe were through break beat, dub, trip hop and ambient. By 1995, he was going to the best techno parties that happened in Rio. That, and a long time researching and learning from experienced DJs, contributed to his debut on the pickups in 2001.

From then on, he played in several clubs and parties in Rio, like Bunker 94, Fosfobox, Dama de Ferro and Projeto Fase (MOO), as well as Belo Horizonte's Mary in Hell and Sao Paulo clubs D-EDGE and CLASH.

As a technology aficionado, Ivan is part of an audiovisual project with Hckr.tv, a collective that presented its works in two of the biggest Brazilian digital art festivals: FAD, in Belo Horizonte, and F.I.L.E. in Sao Paulo. He is also one of the founders of Válvula podcast and resident DJ at the monthly "Valvula sessions" party. He adopted Ableton Live as his choice DJing platform in 2006.

Ivan considers electronic music an open field for experimenting, therefore his inspiration can come from anywhere. His main influences in his work are Kraftwerk, Aphex Twin, Derrick May, Giorgio Moroder, Afrika Bambaata, Lee Scratch Perry, Laurent Garnier, Jeff Mills, Anthony Rother, Richie Hawtin and Depeche Mode, among others.
